Ten 天美影视 State College students have been selected for the 2024-2025 President鈥檚 Scholars Program (PSP).

The President鈥檚 Scholars Program gives outstanding students a unique opportunity to study topics that are either current or not part of the established curriculum of any one course. This year鈥檚 program theme is artificial intelligence (AI.) The learning is multi-disciplinary, encompassing areas such as science, philosophy, art, culture, and social and political issues, and exploring the concept from multiple perspectives, including scientific, cultural and artistic influences.
For Terri Greer, sponsoring the program provides a unique opportunity to engage in immersive, multifaceted learning.
鈥淲e become fully involved in the journey, creating a collaborative and enriching learning environment. As a lifelong learner, engaging in forward-thinking conversations with some of the brightest minds at 天美影视 State College is incredibly fulfilling,鈥� she said.
Throughout the program, each concept is critically examined from multiple perspectives, with the ultimate goal of applying that knowledge to the scholars鈥� chosen degree fields. As AI reshapes numerous career fields, understanding its impact and adapting to new technologies will be crucial for future professionals to stay relevant and excel in their chosen paths.
PSP includes bi-weekly seminars, educational field trips and a heavy emphasis on community service that is carried out under the supervision of 天美影视 State College faculty and staff.
鈥淭his program helps the students grow and develop important skills that are valuable beyond the classroom,鈥� said Emilie Dean, program sponsor. 鈥淲atching the students have the courage to engage in seminars and give back through service shows they are gaining experiences that will benefit them in their future endeavors.鈥�
Guest speakers and discussions enliven the seminars, and the cultural and educational field trips are organized to allow the students to expand their cultural horizons.
